About BASEF 2009

The 49th annual science fair for Hamilton, Halton Region and Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant Counties will be held Wednesday, March 25th to Saturday, March 28th at the Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology in Hamilton, Ontario.

What happens at BASEF?

The science fair takes place over the course of four days, starting with project set up on Wednesday, student activities and judging on Thursday, and culminating in the award ceremony and public viewing on Saturday. Top winners go on to compete at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Reno, Nevada and the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Winnipeg.

Who can enter?

BASEF is open to students registered in grades 7 through 12 in public, separate and independent schools within the City of Hamilton, the Region of Halton, and Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant Counties, as well as to home-schooled students living in the same regions.
