March 28th to March 31st— McMaster University — Hamilton, Ontario
BASEF is a registered charity and relies entirely on volunteers and sponsors.

The 47th annual science fair for Hamilton, Halton Region and Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant Counties was held Wednesday, March 28th to Saturday, March 31st at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

Cash, prizes and scholarships worth more than $150,000 were awarded at the conclusion of the three-day event. Twenty students have won all-expense-paid trips to compete at either the Canada Wide Science Fair in Truro, Nova Scotia or the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Albuquerque, New Mexico. See the results page for full information.

What happens at BASEF?

The fair takes place over the course of four days, starting with project set up on Wednesday, student activities and judging on Thursday, and culminating in the award ceremony and public viewing on Saturday.
